Can you build a Car using HEMP?
Absolutely! you can build a car using Hemp!
Not only can the body panels be made with Hemp fiber but the car can be fuelled with an Ethanol mix containing Hemp too!
Porsche has recently released (2019) a green alternative to the last-generation Cayman GT4 race car.
Instead of wearing carbon-fibre fenders, this new car’s body panels are made out of hemp; that means it’s just as light as a carbon-fibre-bodied car, but is easier on the planet, as hemp is made of renewable cannabis leaves.

A man in Florida, named Bill Dietzen, also built himself a sports car made from Hemp just to prove he could.
He says the Hemp fibres are used in the same way as Fiberglass would be but the end product turns out to be much lighter and 10x more dent resistant than steel!

Bill was not the first person to think of using Hemp in such a way.
He was inspired by Henry Ford who showed a car in the 1940’s that had been in development for years, that used Hemp in the door panels and also incorporated other plant material such as Soy and Flax into the cars components.
Ford also worked with Rudolf Diesel, the creator of the Diesel engine, to incorporate an engine that ran using Hemp oil.
Due to all the innovations that Henry used in that first Hemp car, Bill figures it was 3x greener than the Electric cars of today! (video uploaded in 2017)
So why didn’t Henry Fords ideas of using Hemp get implemented?
Why don’t we see cars or any other of the Unlimited number of items that could potentially be made from the Cannabis plant and the Hemp fibers?
